Eighth-Generation Native of the Southern Outer Banks

Bobby Bryan Goodwin is a 100-ton master captain, waterman and coastal storyteller whose novels draw from a life lived on the water and a heritage that runs eight generations deep.

Educated at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he has spent decades creating and producing regional and maritime television, including Down East Outdoors and Big Rock TV. His creative work spans novels, screenplays, television, and film, rooted in coastal history, outdoor narratives, and the enduring pull of his Southern Outer Banks heritage.

A lifelong fisherman, he makes his home in Beaufort, North Carolina.

His debut novel King Tide is available now. His second novel, The Apostle, is forthcoming.
